Day 7: Running Challenge

Distance: 0.82mi
Time: 7 minutes

Hooray! 7 consecutive (minus Sunday) days of running! This is definitely the first time in my life I've done this.

I'm glad I didn't make running in the morning part of the goal. That's definitely not happening much. I love me my bed a little too much.

Tonight was another dark run. I found a good night route that follows the parking lot so it's well lit and close to people. I just need to make sure I keep my distance from the dumpsters (see day 3).

Today was a fun day. Lillian and I went to the mall play place and she loved it! For the first ten minutes or so she just watched all of the older kids running around and jumping from place to place. After she'd taken it all in, she began crawling through the many tunnels and begging for rides down the slide. She made three friends. A brother and sister who took an interest in her. There was also a cute little boy who couldn't have been more than a few months older than Lilly who followed her around saying "baby!" Lilly particularly liked this little boy. They would approach each other and mimic whatever sounds the other was making loudly yelling things like "ba-ba, da-da, etc." together.

After the mall Lilly got a short nap and then we picked up some friends of ours and dropped them at the airport. They are a really fun couple and I always love hanging out with them--even if it's just on the way to the airport! Lilly also enjoyed having another car seat next to hers and getting to play with her little friend in the car.

Finally, if you would like to see what made this the best day ever, view the video below.

Seven days! I am impressed! Keep going. I think it's great that you didn't make the proviso that you HAD to run in the morning. It's always great to get things out of the way, but it's way better to do them at all! :)

Wow, so I don't have time to go back and read all of the post, but I am so excited for you. What is your goal? I love running. And wish I had moe time to do so. I guess, I dont't love running. But I love having time to myself to do nothing but something for myself. I don't get it nearly enough!

I had no idea this blog or goal existed until just now. What a cool idea! Just a few more years, and Lilly will have enough control of her feet to go jogging with you! ;)

Thanks, Shera! All your facebook posts about your runs helped inspire me to do this! My goal is to run every day (except for Sundays) for one month. I didn't set any other parameters (like distance or time). I have noticed that without even trying, the distance and pace have improved on their own. Very fun.
